Grade your students' answers in minutes, with a reason for every grade.

Gradally reads students' typed answers, grades them against the model answer the teacher set, and shows the teacher the reason behind every grade.

No grade reaches a student before you approve it, and the reasons stay with the teacher.

GRADES TYPED ANSWERS IN SUBJECTS LIKE

For everyone on the platform

One tool that makes life easier for the teacher, the platform's management and its tech team.

Write the model answer once.

  • Every student is graded by the same standard.
  • You see the reason behind each grade and can change it in seconds.
  • No pile of papers waiting at the end of the day.

One view of every class.

  • Every exam's results in one place, per student and per question.
  • One standard across teachers and classes.
  • Grades are released only when the platform decides.

Grades land inside your platform.

  • Connect in a day, or let us handle it with no development on your side.
  • Every grade reaches your teachers with its reason.
  • You decide when students see them.
How it works

Three steps. Only the first one needs you.

1

Add the questions and model answers

Upload the exam paper or type the questions. Gradally suggests the model answers and you review and approve them.

2

Students answer as usual

On your platform or app, with nothing changing for the student.

3

Grades reach the teacher with their reasons

Every answer is graded by the same standard, and the teacher sees the sentence that earned each grade.

A whole class in minutes.

The same standard for every student, and the hours you used to spend grading go back to teaching.

Capacity and speed

From one class to a whole platform, at the same pace.

One Gradally server keeps up with a busy exam season. These are our estimates from measured runs, rounded down.

Per hour40,000answers
Per day1,000,000answers
Per week7,000,000answers
Per month30,000,000answers
The answer arrivesfrom your platform
Free layersa fraction of a second
Deeper layers, when neededa few seconds
Grade with its reasonwithin minutes, usually seconds

Estimates for one server, taken from our own measured runs (about 40 answers per second in the latest study) and rounded down; more servers add capacity. Actual throughput depends on answer length and on how many answers need the deeper layers, and we size it for your platform before you go live.

Gradally fits the way you already teach.

Grades the teacher can read

Each part of the model answer is checked on its own, and the teacher sees what the student got, missed, or wrote unclearly. This detail is for the teacher only; students never see it.

Change once, and it applies to everyone

If you edit the model answer after grading, every affected answer is re-graded automatically, the same way.

Questions

Straight answers.

No. The teacher writes and approves the model answer once; grading then runs automatically, and the teacher can review or change any grade at any time.

No. The reasons are shown to the teacher and the platform's management only; the student sees nothing but the grade you decide to release.

It says so. An answer it cannot grade with confidence is flagged “needs review” for the teacher to decide, and is never turned into a zero.

Only when you decide. Grades stay hidden until your team releases them, so your current grades are untouched while you compare.

We never ask for student names, phone numbers or e-mails. All we receive is the answer text and a reference number that reveals nothing about the student.

Benefits

Solutions to the grading problems every platform knows.

Gradally was designed by people who have graded exams by hand. Each block on this page shows one problem and how Gradally solves it.

How it works, in short

You approve the model answer, students answer as usual, grades reach the teacher with their reasons, and nothing is released to students until you decide.

More than grading, in one place.

Grading is only the start. These are the problems platforms bring us, and what Gradally offers to solve them.

Grading with reasons

Grade a whole class in minutes, and know the reason behind every grade.

Short answers, one-line answers, numbers and multiple choice, in Arabic and English, all graded against the teacher's model answer.

Cost

Cheaper than sending every answer to an AI, and far cheaper than a full grading team.

Simple answers are settled by rules that cost nothing; models are used only where needed, with a spending cap on every exam.

When it is not sure, it tells you

Every exam has a few answers written in a way no rule can settle. They are left for the teacher instead of being guessed, and the teacher's decision is remembered for similar answers.

Changed your mind? One edit is enough

Edit the model answer and every affected answer is re-graded the same way, with the old grades kept on record.

How it works inside

Five decision layers, starting with the cheapest.

We do not send every answer to an AI. An answer passes through several layers; each settles what it can with confidence and hands the rest to the next, so the expensive model only sees what the cheaper layers could not settle.

The width of each layer is the share of answers that still reach it, and the ticks beside it are what it settles: most answers are settled in the free layers. The exact shares vary by subject and question.

A cycle that makes grading cheaper week after week.

In every grading cycle, grades that two independent sources agreed on become training examples for that question's classifier, so next time it settles more answers without calling any model. It never learns from a single guess or a fallback grade, and it is not trusted before passing a test on answers it has never seen. Teacher decisions on answers that need review are remembered, and editing the model answer re-grades everything it affects.

Integration & docs

Connects to your platform quickly and safely.

Three ways to connect, from one that needs no work from you to full control, and all three are ready today.

A · No development

You give us read access to the answers and one table for the grades; we read new answers every few seconds and write each grade back in place.

B · One working day

Your server sends each answer with one request, and each grade comes back to an address you choose, digitally signed and retried on failure.

C · Full control

A documented interface with ready test files, for teams that want to control every step and keep their own records.

What we need from you

Short lists, no surprises.

For A

Database access

  • A read-only account for the answers table
  • One results table we can write to
  • Our address allowed through your firewall
  • Matching your questions to ours, once per exam
For B

An address to send grades to

  • One request per answer, sent by your server
  • A secure address that receives the grades
  • Two secret keys kept on your server
For C

One developer and one day

  • Read the developer page below
  • Import the test files and try the sandbox
  • Run the acceptance list together with us
Docs

Everything your developers need, on one page.

Privacy by design

We never ask for names, phones or e-mails, only the answer text and a reference that reveals no identity.

Nothing gets lost

Every answer gets a receipt and every grade a version; if anything is lost, it is sent again.

Your switch to publish

Grades stay hidden from students until your team turns publication on.
